# \[PASSED\] OP-PIP-76: Discontinue 1 Pythnet validator node

**Abstract**

This proposal aims to off-board (destake) one last validator from Pythnet. This is the 4th and last proposal for validator off-boarding.

**Rationale**

As part of an ongoing effort to improve Pythnet reliability and reduce the overhead costs to data publishers, 1 validator is being off-boarded.

This follows few OP-PIPs 69 where 16 additional validators had been on-boarded - those being subsidized by the Pyth Data Association

**Description**

Pythnet, Pyth’s appchain, is governed by the Pythian Council, which manages stake accounts and validator roles.  
An increased amount of publishers/validators bring additional robustness to the network and further decentralization.

FYI the key initially indicated was wrong and has now been edited.

`Ever8Jd9WeSMwTQsAMrkQ2oy61PntCfQU9JbGWXVg7GY` was the validator ID while we need to destake the voting key `EverktRCW4jSvQAPhqifSPFNhXd7RTTNsSJbW5afoGsi`
