Enable .pyth TLD and domain name registrations

Almost all of our launched TLDs have been user or community initiated. Seems like clout is chasing us.

For the better part of two years there were no alternatives to .sol, which again we must add is the flagship of Solana TLDs!

If anyone is up to the sleuthing we would ask you this:
How many of the 240k domain names have been pre registered?
How many of the 240k domain names are active?
How many of the 240k domain names are being held in wallets with 5+ domains?

Also bear in mind: each of those 240k domain names can have hundreds of thousands of subdomains, diminishing the subdomains value.

This is again just a matter of being there first, while also being the only domain name provider on the blockchain.

As projects come and go in this competitive market, getting the same integrations is just a matter of time.

Also keep in mind that for the .pyth.sol subdomains to function as a simple “.pyth” designation in Solana and cross-chain dApps all of Bonfida’s partners will have to review the integration.

We should add that certain integrations AllDomains can provide (e.g. Matrica Domain Name Gating) will only be possible with great expense and effort as a subdomain.

Regarding the Brave integration we should also outline once more the difference between a domain and a subdomain. Once AllDomains gets the Brave integration (matter of when not if) would you rather:

A. oracle.pyth.sol
or
B. oracle.pyth

We saw Bonfida going at length about the UI convention. As it stands the UI convention is this:

Bonfida = .sol (the flagship of Solana Domain Names)
AllDomains = .[anything]

This convention is what prevented us from starting our own .sol TLD in the first place (although we could have) and what would prevent us from creating a competing .pyth TLD.

Although there can never be a UI convention between domains and subdomains. It’s like comparing apples to oranges.

In the web2 world most subdomains are free. Even Bonfida has a precedent of offering this service as a gratuity (TheSAGADAO).

Once again: we can not compare apples to oranges.

Our business model is structured to ensure both AllDomains and our partners are profitable. We do not hide the fact we aim to be successful long term. Our proposal is that the PYTH DAO also benefits from recurring revenues which will continue to fund the treasury while also curating a list of engaged members.

What we want is to ensure the PYTH community makes an informed decision on this vote without any bias!

People keep mentioning that Bonfida is multi chain and has “more integrations” but nobody is taking into consideration that neither of those things are relevant to sub domains which will need further consideration by every single protocol and chain

Also All Domains is already integrated everywhere that matters while these additional integrations that Bonfida has are all dead protocols that nobody has used avidly in years

I will finish this off with the mention of All Domains going multi chain within weeks on chains that people and real web2 companies will actually be using. Not bnb

Clearly knows everything about integrations and future proofing.

pyth.sol for the win and it won’t even be close

Pyth is a multi network platform from the looks of it.

“Also All Domains is already integrated everywhere that matters while these additional integrations that Bonfida has are all dead protocols that nobody has used avidly in years”

Did you just call BNB dead? BNB larger than Solana.

AllDomains are a bunch of legends! I have both bonk and wen domains. They seem to want to push domains and tech forward, i’ve never seen a team ship so much in the last 12 months. I love my domains and i still hold my $PYTH. I personally wouldn’t buy or even want to own a .pyth.sol sub-domain. I just wouldn’t be interested, seems lame. Even if you want to change UI so it appears like a .pyth it’s just not the same. Like buying a fake / counterfeit - cheap and nasty.

Coming from ETH it’s like ENS vs UD. We all know ENS > UD, here the thesis remains intact: SNS > Alldomains

Could .pyth domains (if AllDomains win the vote) be yield bearing? Just saw this on the website.

WTF

It has been revealed that Alldomains was manipulating their stats, to which they have admitted. Given the gravity of this situation, shouldn’t it be considered an automatic disqualification from the upcoming vote?

Thank you, David. Happy to see you like your bonk and wen domains

I don’t know what you mean by “revealed.” If you have time to write this FUD, you should take the time to read how “their manipulating stats” was debunked.

I like the proposal of allDomains to offer us a quick and simple answer to the problem that for many users represent the long and boring cryptographic addresses, added to this that it uses the advantages of the solana blockchain with which it already has a relationship as a domain service provider, practically with only 3 steps users can obtain their domain
 success in their proposal
