Allocating a portion of Experiment Labs budget for Video Content Creation

Summary:

This proposal recommends allocating a portion of the Community Council Experiment Labs budget to reward two well know and trusted community contributors for producing and editing high value video content that promotes the Pyth brand across platforms such as Twitter, TikTok and potentially more going forward.

Context:

Pyth Network continues to grow in visibility, cultural and community relevance. But to sustain and amplify that momentum, Pyth needs ongoing support from content creators embedded in the community.

Two contributors from the Pyth community – Samurai and Planck - have already demonstrated initiative and skill in producing video content aligned with Pyth’s aesthetics and values. Their content has the potential to significantly increase engagement, education, and brand awareness. Compensating both contributors is logical and will encourage the effort.

Proposal Details:

Purpose:

To fund a two person community content team focused on producing and editing short form, high impact video content for the Pyth brand.

  • Scope of Work:

Concepting, scripting, and editing videos that align with Pyth messaging;

Explaining complex Pyth updates (like Express Relay, Pyth OIS, institutional adoption etc) into interesting content;

Delivering a consistent content (videos, engagement under videos and more).

  • Contributors:

Samurai - Lead Editor;

Planck – Storytelling/Scripting/Filming.

  • Proposed Compensation:

(example - adjust as needed)

Total budget - 5000 $PYTH per month (3000 $PYTH to Samurai, 2000 $PYTH to Planck)

Monthly contributions: at least 2 videos per month

Monthly review based on engagement, quality and further steps

  • Benefits:

Boosts Pyth brand visibility through high quality, engaging and educational content;

Supports the idea of community decentralization and community contributions;

Aligns with long term Pyth ecosystem growth.

1500+ views, 15+ reposts, 20+ comments per video

  • Call to Action:

It is important to empower Pyth Community and let them leverage their skills to the best of our ability. Pyth Network has brilliant, yet sometimes complex to understand technology behind it. It is absolutely a must to make information about these products accessible to regular crypto users/retail. Empowering Pyth Community to tell a simplified, user friendly story behind each product speaks louder and better than any marketing stunt. The core mission is to reward the emerging Pyth talent and encourage others to create high quality content going forward.

I am a big fan of this.

High quality, informative video content is hard to come across. It’s labour intensive and should be fairly rewarded and encouraged.

Great work putting yourself out there Planck, I would love to see other follow your lead and put forward their own proposals too if they have an interest in doing similar.

I support this initiative. With X being flooded with sloppy AI text and images, it would be refreshing to see quality video content. We live in the short video scrolling era and I see more attention brought in if more such educative videos are created.

Considering the high quality of the existing videos, it makes logical sense to continue down this trajectory. Fully support this idea.

Suggestion:

Propose to trial this for 6 months, with monthly payments commensurate with acheiving all engagement targets (snapshots taken at end of month).

Linear reductions (equally weighted per criterion) in maximum monthly payments should there be a shortfall. Contributors to submit both X links, every month, for review by the Community Council.

This is a great proposal and i loved it.

means of encouraging contents creators is a great move for the community to get more high quality contents out there, contents creation (high quality or memes) is the backbone of any kinds of advert.

@Planck , @Samurai and @Pepito inspired me to making web3 explainer/educational videos and as it is what i love doing the results were good so far.

B/S to @Planck for this proposal as i am recognised as VENUS DE MILO in PYTH

I disagree.

I do not think the figures you proposed are high. I watched the video via the link, but I question whether the quality warrants such compensation. It appears that the majority of the comments were written by members or associates of the Python community.

Or perhaps his followers.

If you look closely at the comments, there are also people with critical opinions. There are hardly any newcomers.

The Python network is currently collaborating with major institutions. They are connected through the official Python Twitter or website. Furthermore, whether institutions cooperate depends on the quality of the data.

Companies do not consider partnerships based solely on content from ordinary people rather than public figures. Look at the price of Python. Now is the time to reduce even this kind of compensation.

If you truly want to increase the value of Python, you can produce videos for free. If you are producing videos for compensation, it is better to pay that money and hire a video expert.
