[ONGOING] OP-PIP-67: Douro Labs as the Relayer for Pyth Express Relay (PER)

Abstract

This proposal seeks to appoint Douro Labs as a relayer for the Pyth Express Relay (PER) ecosystem replacing the previous appointment of Asymmetric Research in OP-PIP-16.

Description

Douro Labs is Web3 development company and a contributor to the Pyth oracle and Pyth Express Relay.

Proposal Details

Role and Responsibilities: As the relayer for PER, Douro Labs will:

  1. Provide and maintain endpoints for PER users to connect to off-chain systems.
  2. Manage the runtime of the auction system for liquidations.
  3. Ensure seamless connectivity to various blockchains for transaction submissions.
  4. Develop and maintain data infrastructure for continuous performance and reliability analysis.
  5. Implement best sec ops practices including continuous monitoring, access control, authentication, and incident response with reporting on uptime and performance.

Relayer fee: In exchange for the work as a relayer, Douro Labs will receive a relayer fee equal to 6% of the Express Relay platform fees. The other 94% of the platform fees is assigned to the DAO. This fee split is configurable and can be updated by the Pythian Council.

i have some questions probably not directly about the proposal but kinda thought to ask about this after reading the proposal

  • How many Relayers are there in PER?
  • Was there any reason for the replacement of AR?

  • There is a single relayer.
  • The reason for replacing AR is to further streamline runtime operations of the auction server by leveraging the same resources that are responsible for its development.
