The difference between first-party and third-party data is the difference between getting a stock price from the exchange that trades it versus getting it from someone who scraped a website. Part 5: What NOT to Do

  1. Don’t make it tribal. The moment you name-drop competitors or call other protocols dead, you’ve lost credibility with everyone except people who already agree with you. Make architectural arguments, not tribal ones. Pyth stands on its own merits — let the numbers do the talking.

  2. Don’t overstate the revenue. $122K/month is impressive for a 5-month-old DeFi product. It’s not impressive compared to Bloomberg’s $12B. Frame it correctly: the growth rate and the business model are the story, not the absolute number.

  3. Don’t promise price predictions. The tokenomics are improving. The buyback is real. The emissions are gone. But saying “PYTH to $X” undermines every factual argument you’ve made. Let people draw their own conclusions from the data.

  4. Don’t ignore Pyth’s real risks. Solana downtime is real. Hyperliquid concentration is real. Regulatory risk is real. Acknowledging risks makes you credible. Pretending they don’t exist makes you a shill.
